Camden Arts Centre

As part of Unit 6 on Fine Art BA we worked on-site in response to the exhibitions of Hanne Darboven and Raphael Hefti's work, both drawing parallels between a focus upon the process of an art work and the significance of time's role. These images are from the final exhibition which took place in April. In terms of curation and the show as a whole, I felt it was successful and strengthened from our time working there together as a group. I have begun to consider more carefully the placement of the artwork in a given space and how the viewer's interpretation can be moulded by this. Two of my pieces were placed in areas of the room that were inaccessible and largely viewed by chance. One was folded over a beam close to the high ceiling, another was placed on the highest point of the wall and could only quite be viewed by ascending the spiral staircase and stretching over to grasp a closer look. I felt these decisions led them to evoke a more intimate, private tone, as well as enhancing the 'accidental' and element of chance within my process.
